How we work
Whether we are working on a hotel’s heating system, a commercial office portfolio, a brewery’s steam generation system, or a manufacturer’s electrification program, the work is undertaken in a logical sequence: understand where you are, understand what is worth doing, ensure it is delivered properly, and ensure it is performing as expected.
STAGE 01
Diagnose
Know where you stand.
Timeline: 2–4 weeks
A focused assessment of your current energy performance, regulatory exposure, and improvement potential. It could be for a building facility, a production plant, or both. The idea is to provide you with a clear understanding of where you’re currently wasting resources, where you’re at with regards to compliance, and where you’re best positioned to make improvements.
What you get: Energy consumption analysis (by system, process, or building as appropriate), carbon footprint baseline, regulatory compliance review, benchmarking against comparable operations, and a summary of improvement opportunities with indicative costs and savings.
Typical context: Organisations that suspect they are overspending but lack visibility on the specifics. Also useful ahead of acquisitions, capital planning cycles, or when responding to customer or investor pressure on emissions.
STAGE 02
Strategise
Know what to do and when.
Timeline: 6–10 weeks
A detailed, investment-ready strategy for a single site, facility, or portfolio. We evaluate all possible intervention strategies: heat pumps, fabric measures, electrification of processes, solar PV, control optimisation, heat recovery, operational measures, etc. The output is a cost, savings, and payback profile for each option, along with a recommendation on the order in which the measures should be undertaken. This is the document that will be used by your board, investors, or the financier.
What you get: Techno-economic analysis of all viable retrofit measures, phased investment plan with NPV and payback for each, scenario comparisons, regulatory compliance pathway (MEES, EPC, CRREM where applicable), and a supporting financial model.
Typical context: Organisations with a clear intent to act that need a credible, costed plan to secure funding. Portfolio owners who need to prioritise across multiple assets.
STAGE 03
Implement
Get it delivered properly.
Timeline: 3–12 months
We remain involved through the implementation phase. We review the contractors’ tenders, assess their design compliance, evaluate the quality of construction, and monitor the commissioning. The objective is to ensure that what gets built matches what was specified and performs as modelled.
What you get: Contractor procurement and bid evaluation, design review and validation, construction monitoring and quality assurance, commissioning support and handover, and independent verification that installed systems meet performance targets.
Typical context: Clients who have approved a retrofit programme and want independent technical oversight to protect the investment.
STAGE 04
Monitor
Verify it keeps working.
Timeline: Ongoing
Investments in energy efficiency and decarbonisation deliver value only if they continue to perform. We provide ongoing monitoring, reporting, and optimisation services, helping you identify anomalies, track actual performance against predictions, and prepare information for investors, regulators, or boards.
What you get: Continuous energy monitoring and anomaly detection, quarterly performance reports (board and investor-ready), ESG and carbon reporting support (GRESB, EPRA, TCFD), annual strategy review and target recalibration, and operational staff engagement.
Typical context: Portfolio owners with compliance reporting obligations, or operators who need ongoing accountability and performance assurance.
